Chenin Blanc – Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards, Buelton
We received the below email from Lynn Johnson of Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards on May 28th:
“I’m looking forward to harvest 2026 and firming up some grape info. Chenin Blanc is in high demand so I want to give our loyal customers first crack at it. If you would like to purchase again this year please let me know so I can put you on the list.”
In 2025, in a historic first, the Chenin Blanc from Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards of Buelton won best of show and best white! If you are interested in this year’s harvest, please email monica@tardifflaw.com.
Last year, the Chenin Blanc was $1.45 lb, harvest dates range from 9/18-10/31. The vineyard requires a minimum of 500 lbs. With our co-op, we can group our orders to help meet the vineyard minimum. We do ask members to purchase a minimum of 100 lbs. If we don’t get enough orders to meet the minimum, we will let you know and you may want to select an alternate variety.

Ranchita Pura Vida 2026 Harvest
Syrah – 2 tons, $2.00lb/$4,000 ton
Cabernet Sauvignon – 1.5 tons, $1.50lb/$3,000 ton
We are taking orders for the 2026 harvest of our prized Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Hand cultivated and carefully tended near the Templeton Gap District. Our 2023 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon wine won a gold medal at this year's Midstate Fair!
Our vineyard manager is Daniel Martinez who recently left Alta Colina Vineyards to join Gibbs Vineyards of G2 who is arguably the very best, ultra-premium vineyard in the Paso Robles Willow Creek AVA with their grapes going to Saxum, Jacob Toft, Turtle Rock to name a few. Daniel is a wonderful farmer, and his focus is on quality fruit, hand farmed with as much organic practices as possible. We are not certified organic but do our best to follow best farming practices in our boutique vineyard of one acre.
The vines are certified Paulson 1103. Soil is 30% sand, 30% loam and 40% clay. Elevation is 274.37m / 900’. Day time temperatures 80’s to 100’s and nighttime temperatures in the 40’s-50’s. The Cabernet Sauvignon Vines were planted in 2016 and the Syrah 2017 with additional vines planted in 2023.
Vine spacing for the Cabernet Sauvignon 6’ and the Syrah was 6’ but went to 3' in 2023 when we added vines.
Pricing includes handpicked harvesting; bins are available or can be provided by the buyer. We work with boutique wineries and home winemakers of all sizes. We have a scale to measure weight onsite at harvest.
Harvest is typically mid-September for the Syrah and late October for the Cabernet Sauvignon. We welcome onsite visits and have 2023 Cabernet in the bottle and have entered it in the Mid State Fair, Santa Barbara County Fair and the Orange County Fair winemaking contests.
2024 and 2025 harvests are available for barrel tasting in Arroyo Grande. Grapes previously sourced by Crazywoman Cellars.
